In the recent Minecraft updates, Mojang has decided to add jobs that are variable to the villagers. Then they decided that villagers and players should be able to change their jobs to make it easier. For a villager to get a job, a certain item must be placed down and that villager is in range of the item. There are several different jobs like a farmer, blacksmith, armorer, toolsmith, and more!
Villager jobs
For an armorer, you will need a blast furnace. Armorers can give you armor including chainmail. At the highest level of skill, you will even be able to get enchanted diamond armor.
For the butcher, you will need a smoker. The butcher can give you emeralds and cooked food. Then that means you don’t need to cook food by yourself, but it comes with a price!
For the cartographer, you will need a cartography table. Cartographers give you maps and banners that can be useful for finding your way home or adventuring.
For the cleric, you will need a brewing stand. Clerics are able to trade for useful items, like ender pearls and bottles o’ enchanting.
For the farmer, you will need a compost bin. Farmers give you food such as bread, carrots, and apples.
The fisherman will need a barrel. Fishermen can give cooked fish and fishing rods that could possibly be enchanted. After that, you could get more fish with the fishing rod without spending your money!
Continuing with villager jobs
A fletcher will need to have a fletching table to be employed. The fletcher can give arrows, bows, and even tipped arrows(arrows with potion effects.) Then, you could do more damage to mobs, which is perfect!
The leatherworker will need a cauldron. The leatherworker will offer things such as leather armor, leather horse armor, and even saddles.
The librarian needs a lectern. The librarian can give enchanted items and possibly name tags! After that, all of your villagers and animals will have names!
The mason will need a stonecutter. Masons will trade cut versions of stone and smooth versions of stone.
The Nitwit doesn’t need anything! This villager did not graduate school, therefore, meaning they cannot be employed to a job.
The shepherd will need a loom. Shepherds can offer different colors of wool, perfect for making multiple beds!
Toolsmiths will need a smithing table. Toolsmiths can give you any tools, and they can be enchanted!
The unemployed villager doesn’t need any items. This villager doesn’t have a job but can get one if you place something for it.
The weaponsmith needs a grindstone. Weaponsmiths give you any swords/axes and possibly enchanted!
Now that you know this, have fun in your own village!
