Taming turtles isn’t very confusing. I only recently figured out how to tame them, so I might as well share it with everyone else. I hope that this can help you!
Taming Turtles
To tame turtles isn’t that hard. All you need is some green seagrass! Seagrass can be obtained by using shears on the long green vines that can be found in an ocean or even just in a lake!
Then, once you have obtained your seagrass, find a turtle. You can tame it by right-clicking on it or by pulling the left trigger. After that, if it has hearts around it, this means that you have tamed the turtle! Unfortunately, taming a turtle does not mean that it will follow you. All it means to tame a turtle is that you put it in love mode.
Breeding Turtles/ Getting Turtle Eggs
Breeding turtles isn’t that different from taming one. Once you do the same steps as before but to two of the adult turtles, you will have them breed on the closest land near the water. You can use this if you are stuck in the middle of an ocean to find land! Once they have found land, they will start breeding. If you see sand particles around the two turtles, this means that you have done all the steps correctly!
After around a minute of the sand particles, they should spawn eggs under one of the turtles. The eggs can spawn up to groups of four! If you protect them long enough without stepping on them, they will hatch baby turtles!
Once these baby turtles grow into adults, there is a chance that you can get a scute, which is used in the crafting recipe of the Turtle Shell helmet. Well, now that you know how to tame some turtles, go make your giant turtle farm!
